Crayons to Calculators

The Boulder Rotary Club has been instrumental in the success of the Crayons to Calculators program over the years.  A local nonprofit, Impact on Education, distributes backpacks filled with needed school supplies to local students who qualify for free and reduced lunch. 

In 2005, the Boulder Rotary Club provided initial funding for Crayons to Calculators with a donation of a total of $120,000 spread over three years.  Since the inception of Crayons to Calculators, our club has provided volunteers annually to assist with filling these backpacks.  Last year, 45 primarily Rotarians with some family and friends volunteered 90 hours for this worthwhile endeavor.

Through the continued involvement of the Boulder Rotary Club, many other community organizations and individual volunteers, Impact on Education has been able to assist more and more students each year.  Last year, 11,486 filled backpacks were provided to students in the Boulder Valley and St. Vrain school districts.
