The Boulder Rotary and Boulder Valley Rotary Clubs are most grateful for the opportunity to partner with Boulder Community Health Foundation and Mental Health Partners as sponsors of the five evening series “Mental Health — Issues and Answers.” From the first lecture on Jan. 29 to the concluding one on May 22, it is estimated that over 850 people registered to attend. Another 200 viewed the videos online. The evaluations were positive, along with a stated appreciation for two provided resource lists.

In May, these two Rotary clubs co-sponsored the 2nd Congressional District forum, which provided a venue where candidates (Democrats, Republican, independent and Libertarian) campaigning for this seat discussed various issues and responded to questions from the audience.

Thanks, too, for Boulder Flatirons Rotary partnering with these two others clubs in support of the students at CU-Boulder who are members of Rotaract. This collegiate club has participated in the Peaceful Schools Program at University Hill Elementary, supported Shelter Box and raised funds to send two veterans to Washington, D. C. with the Honor Flight.

Discussions are underway for an additional forum before the fall election. So too are discussions about a future mental health series.
