Supporting our local scholars

For many years, the Boulder Rotary Club has awarded scholarships to graduating seniors from any Boulder Valley School District (BVSD) high school.  These scholarships support the student’s first year of higher education at any accredited institution located within Colorado.  The scholarships are intended for students who are seeking a four-year degree.  Annually, the Boulder Rotary Club awards an average of eight (8) scholarships.  Awards are made based on several criteria including projected ability to succeed in college, scholastic achievement, extra-curricular activities, civic engagement, leadership skills and financial need.

The annual process begins in the first week of February every year when the scholarship application form is sent to BVSD high school counselors and is posted on the Boulder Rotary website.  The applications deadline is typically in mid-March.  Applications are reviewed by the Boulder Rotary Resident High School Scholarship Committee.  Finalists are selected, and all applicants are notified of their application status in early April.  In-person interviews with each finalist is scheduled for an evening in late April.  Finalists are notified of the results of the interview by early May.  Scholarship award recipients are invited to a Boulder Rotary club meeting in late May or June to celebrate their achievement and have them meet the club.  The exact dates for each step of the process are published annually on the application form that is released in February.
